Microsuction

What is Microsuction?

Microsuction is a very safe and highly effective method of wax and ear debris removal. Using a specially adapted microscope the medical practitioners have the best possible view of your ears throughout the whole procedure.

A small suction tube is guided into the ear canal and is used to remove the debris causing the disorder. Other instruments may be used to complete the treatment.

Why choose Microsuction?

Microsuction is a major advancement in ear wax and debris removal. Traditional methods such as ear syringing and irrigation use water to flush out the wax, the ear cannot be viewed during the procedure. Therefore there is an increased risk of incomplete removal and more serious side effects such as pain, perforation of the ear drum, infection and hearing loss.

However, Microsuction, minimizes these risks, maximizes effective ear disorder management and provides you, the patient, with the most comfortable treatment available.

Pre-treatment such as olive oil drops may be necessary for a short period of 2-3 days prior to your appointment, the clinic will be happy to discuss this with you.
